The ability to shoot while moving is a crucial offensive skill in basketball. This iSport lesson features the curl and pop drill, which will help you get more comfortable shooting quickly from different areas on the court. Begin at the corner of the 3 point line and shoot the ball. After you shoot act like you're coming off a wide screen, cut to the elbow, receive the pass, take 1 dribble and then shoot a mid-range jumper while on the move. Then go back to the corner, receive the pass and shoot a 3. Continue this drill until you make 6 shots and then switch sides of the court. Let's recap what this drill covers. The curl and pop drill simulates taking a shot after coming off of a wide screen. It also gets you used to quickly taking a pass, making a move and quickly shooting while still on the move. Being able to shoot on the move and from different spots on the floor are two important keys to unlocking your offensive basketball potential. Practicing this drill will help you in both of these areas.
